This year has been a great year with lots of opportunities to learn about and help disability service programs here in Utah! There is one particular program that completely blew Rick and I away as we toured their facility, their programs and even got to meet their clients. They are the Ability Inclusion Services in West Valley City.
Their program includes Day Services, Residential facilities along with Community Inclusion opportunities. While on our tour we were introduced to many of their clients and the love they receive from the staff was so apparent by the smiles and pure joy they radiated. Tanner would have absolutely LOVED this place!
We were honored to donate LEGO sets to Ability Inclusion Services and know they have been put to good use. We received this sweet email that just warms my heart!
Hi Karen
Back in February you brought us a bunch of legos which have been great! Our folks have enjoyed working on them. Today, I was in the program area and saw this fella out of the corner of my eye working with legos, I walked in and wanted to sneak some photos and the staff tells me he uses the book that comes with it and goes page by page putting the legos together. Then they showed me this car and told me it took him about 2.5 hours yesterday to put it together and my mind was blown! He's mostly non verbal and is very anxious so puzzles keep him focused and calm. I knew he loves puzzles because that's usually what I see him doing, I had no idea he was into legos and how quickly he can put something together. I thought you would like to see some pictures of the impact your donation is having :) Amazing!!
Enjoy and Thanks again!!
